Kaizhe Zhang (b. 1999) is a painter and image-maker based in Shenzhen and Guangzhou, China, who studied at the Glasgow School of Art (2018–2022).
Kaizhe’s practice interrogates the acts of painting and viewing, drawing upon everyday experience, visual materials, muscle memory, and image-based problem-solving. He considers paintings not merely as visual displays, but as deceptive objects—surfaces bearing the temporary, absurd traces of colliding, unspoken forces. He is drawn to the unpredictability of image-making. To Kaizhe, painting is a slowly forming cavity whose fluid meaning must be continually re-examined through practice and viewership.

张凯喆（1999年） 是一位绘画与图像制作者，他于2018至2022年间在格拉斯哥美术学院学习绘画，目前生活和工作于中国深圳和广州。
他的创作是基于过程导向的实践，伴随着对于观看方式的持续审视。对他而言，画作为视觉呈现时，更像一件极具伪装性的“物”，而留在这个平面之上的，只是那些无法被言说的力量在相互碰撞之后，暂时且荒诞地留下的痕迹。他的制作思路来源于日常中散落的零碎线索，记录性影像，还包括某种模糊的肌肉记忆，以及面对画面现场的解题。无论是在大尺幅画面上的长时间磨合，还是在日常中进行的小尺幅快速誊写，吸引他的始终是画面生成过程中隐约的不可预见性。对他来说，绘画更像是一个缓慢生成的洞。它的意义是暂时的、流动的，需要在反复实践和观看中被重新回溯与理解。
